THE COMPOSER
Luca Bonaffini
Composer • Poet • Author
Luca Bonaffini is an Italian composer and poet whose work explores sound as a structural and narrative dimension of artistic experience. His approach treats music not as accompaniment, but as an architectural element capable of shaping perception, memory, and meaning.

Sound as Authorship
For Luca Bonaffini, sound is a form of authorship. Each composition is conceived as an original work, inseparable from the visual artwork it accompanies.
Music is not treated as a decorative or interchangeable layer. It is designed to endure, extending the identity of the artwork beyond temporary contexts and platforms.
A Poetic and Compositional Language
Bonaffini’s musical language is rooted in poetic structure, restraint, and intentionality.
Rather than illustrating images, his compositions interpret their internal rhythm, reveal latent emotional tensions, and create a parallel narrative space.
This approach has led to his work being described as “the Morricone of illustration” for his ability to give images a lasting musical identity.

L’ARTE PROMPTICA
Luca Bonaffini is the composer and author of L’ARTE PROMPTICA – Introduction to Prompt Art, the foundational project of Sound for Images.
In this work, 100 visual artworks are paired with 100 original musical compositions, each accessed through permanent QR codes connected to proprietary servers.
The project represents a mature synthesis of visual art, sound composition, poetic thought, and contemporary tools, grounded in long-term cultural responsibility.
A Curatorial Role
Within Sound for Images, Luca Bonaffini acts as founding composer and curatorial reference.
His role is not that of a service provider, but of an artistic guide who ensures coherence, authorship, and responsibility across all projects developed within the platform.
Rooted in an Italian cultural context active since 2002, this role reflects a commitment to continuity, durability, and long-term artistic accountability.
